Maxus PH competes for the 1st time in 2019 STV ARCC with the G10 and V80 vehicles

Fresh from its public debut last June 5, Maxus Philippines has hit the ground running at the Phoenix Petroleum 2019 Sunshine Television (STV) Auto Rally Corporate Challenge (ARCC) last June 15 at Clark Global City in Pampanga.

Maxus Philippines sent three teams composed of members of the local motoring media on board two Maxus G10 multipurpose vehicles (MPVs) and a Maxus V80 Comfort 13-seater passenger van.

The ARCC, organized by the long-running STV, which produces motoring TV and online programs “Motoring Today” and “Auto Focus,” is an "on time, all the time" auto rally exclusive among the country's automobile manufacturers and importers, and is the only motor sports competition where auto industry players openly compete against each other.

The ARCC is a revival of the Sampaguita Rally, a popular motorsport discipline in the 1960s equivalent to the European Tulip Rally, wherein participants are required to travel distances on given timelines. Every second beyond or less than the prescribed travel time would mean a demerit and the team that acquires the least number of demerits wins. The rally runs on public roads, and participants are not exempt from traffic laws and regulations, thus road safety and road discipline are emphasized.

Reginald See, General Manager of Maxus Philippines, was excited with the performance of the media teams. "The 2019 STV ARCC was officially the first public event, after our brand debut, that Maxus vehicles were actually seen running on the roads. Staged with other competing vehicle manufacturers, our G10 and V80 were tested for their Max-performances," See said.

"And with the 'Max-Safety' and 'Max-Efficiency' of the G10 and V80, our vehicles provided a 'Max-Enjoyable' ride and drive for our media team members," he added.

The Maxus G10 is a 9-seater MPV that offers spacious interior amenities, highlighted by adjustable seating for all seats, leather with fabric seat material, which includes four captain's seats in the second and third rows and 60:40 split rear bench seat with tumble, flexible and spacious luggage room, 7-inch touchscreen radio with USB and Bluetooth and 6-speaker system, a 220-volt power supply, cruise control, and front and rear air-conditioning system.

The Maxus G10 features the double-layer welding technology that meets European MPV active and passive safety standards, driver, front passenger and side airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, ISOFIX Child Seats, reverse camera and front and rear parking sensors. For "Max Stability" and handling, the G10 is fitted with a McPherson suspension at the front and the 5-link coil springs at the rear, and chassis timing by Lotus and GM Pan-Asia, resulting to increased stability and better handling.

The Maxus G10 offers "Max Adventures" for all members of the family, as it is powered by a Euro4 1.9-liter diesel engine equipped with VGT charger mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that produces a maximum 150 Ps of power at 4,000rpm and a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1,800 to 2,600rpm.

The Maxus V80 comes in the Comfort, Flex, and Transport variants. The V80 Comfort's 13-seat capacity makes it ideal as a family van, as a school bus or passenger shuttle service. One of V80’s unique feature, the Electric Step Board, makes the passengers’ ingress and egress from the vehicle easier, more comfortable and safer. Being the widest in its class, the V80 Comfort offers "Max Capacity" as it can be loaded to up to 1.1 tons, and is sufficiently powered by a 2.5-liter CRDI diesel engine with VGT. The V80 Comfort's dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX, and rear proximity sensors offer "Max Protection."

The 3-seater V80 Flex has the same body dimensions, engine, and load capacity as the V80 Comfort, the V80 Flex is the ideal van for Filipino small-and-medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) who require "Max Flexibility" for the powerful and efficient transport of their cargo. In line with “Max Flexibility”, loading and unloading cargo from the rear is made easier with the V80’s rear dual swing-out doors. The V80 Flex offers spacious cargo space of 6.9m3 and flexible interiors.

The V80 Transport variant offers an 18-seat passenger capacity which is ideal for the shuttle service business. It is equipped with the same engine and safety features of the other V80 variants.

At the Phoenix Petroleum 2019 STV ARCC, the media team of Jason Tulio (Topgear.com.ph), Manskee Nascimento (Visor.ph), and Van Bomediano (GMA Turbozone) took a white Maxus G10; Jojo the Love Survivor (Magic 89.9) and Raymond Tribdino (Malaya Business Insight) were assigned to a grey Maxus G10, while the trio of Alfred Mendoza (Autobuyers Philippines), Fort Manahan (Carmudi PH), and Ren Alcantara (Gadgets Magazine) were in a white Maxus V80.
